This Cessna 337 is the backbone of our aircraft platforms. With its maneuverability, quick climb rate, and ability to fly at lower altitudes, this aircraft has the capabilities required for excellent data-gathering.

Our current range of instruments include:

  • Position - Garmin moving map GPS.
  • True Airspeed - GPS
  • Altitude - GPS
  • Wind Speed and Direction - calculated from compass heading, indicated airspeed, true airspeed and course made good, under development
  • Temperature - Omega platinum resistance in total temperature de-iced housing
  • Water vapor mixing ratio - Licor
  • CO2, Licor IR absorption
  • SO2, TECO 43, being upgraded
  • Column SO2, Resonance Mini DOAS - Spectral optical absorption path length. Normally from sensor, upward looking, to the top of the atmosphere. Downward column integration is also possible, especially over snow-covered surfaces
  • Aerosol light-scattering coefficient or visual range - Radiance Research Integrating Nephelometer
  • Gaseous Elemental Mercury - Tekran (altitude compensated)
  • Grab Sampler - The sampler allows and nearly point sample of ~60l of ambient air to be taken in a few seconds.
  • Pressure compensated SO2 and CO sensors are to be acquired and integrated shortly.
  • Ozone - UV and total solar radiance sensors will be added shortly.
  • Cloud Water Collector - Installed and operational
  • Air-Force Total Temperature Probe - Installed and operational

Our data retrieval and compilation program offers the opportunity for "good science" with meaningful data for analysis. We are also able to incorporate your instruments into our current model.
